During the height of Zimbabwe’s hyperinflation in late 2007, I spent a working week talking to people about trends in ecosystem services and poverty in Harare, the capital. The shops were bare and you needed great big bricks of Zim dollars to buy anything. I expressed some of my feelings in this article, published in The Weekender newspaper on 28-29 June 2008. More than six years later, hyperinflation may be a thing of the past, but the ravages to the country endure. I wonder what the situation now is for people trying to run restaurants in the country?
